Why no more freeware?

NH Backup has been around for several years, and always as freeware. Now however, publishing software on the Internet is no longer necessarily without cost for the programmer. As for me now. Download.com from where I receive most refers is starting to charge for listing even freeware, and coupled with other things like that it's becoming hard to distribute freeware. I very much regret this development, but I see no way of standing clear of it and therefore NH Backup will be shareware soon. The price will be modest though, say about 10$.
