Smart drive recognition

Normally a backup operation is defined like this: backup folder D:\MySource to folder E:\MyDestination.

The problem with defining source and destination folders like this is that if the drives are removable drives then the drive letter assigned to them might change from time to time depending on how many other drives are connected to the computer. To counter this problem NH Backup can be set up to recognize folder, not by their drive letters, but by their drive serial numbers (or volume labels).

Using the smart drive recognition feature you can configure a backup set to backup to the drive which serial number is BR09-98R2, or which label is 041013_1705, totally independent of what drive letter is assigned to the devices at the time the backup set is launched.
